Planning for the future – How a Revive! franchise can help secure your future

Revive! Glasgow Secure their Future

There is a lot that goes into pivoting your career from one direction to another. While transferable skills are always valuable there is still a lot of training and learning to be done to ensure the future success of a new venture.

Revive! have a varied array of franchisees all at different stages of their careers, some are just starting out, others are switching careers looking for more fulfilment in their work life. Some however are in the latter stages of their career journey and are looking to finally break out of the corporate world and build something of their own, as an asset to sell in due course or maybe to bring in family members and pass it one to future generations.

Revive! Glasgow

For example, Revive! Glasgow owner Ian Scott initially built his career in the food and beverage industry followed by a ten-year stint as a business development manager for a training company. However, he always had a desire to set up something of his own. The Covid19 pandemic appeared almost as a trigger point for Ian as he finally established Revive! Glasgow in late 2020, with two vans and a team of two experienced technicians. Ian originally planned on launching as a family business with his son as his first technician, but due to complications from the pandemic, decided instead to push forward with two experienced techs by his side, to give the business a better launching pad to establish itself in the Glasgow area. Since launching Glasgow has gone from strength to strength, growing year on year now operating with four technicians on the road.

Revive! Northampton

Iain Wallis Revive! Northampton

Iain Wallis, owner of Revive! Northampton is one of the company’s best success stories, as prior to joining Revive! Iain was between jobs and if it weren’t for a chance meeting with managing director Mark Llewellyn on the Rugby pitch, Revive! would be without one of its most successful franchisees. Iain was encouraged to join the business as a technician and quickly rose through the training academy ranks to become training manager. Iain then joined the already established Revive! Northampton as a technician before becoming business partners with the owner, and finally bought the business and became sole owner in 2020. Iain has since grown the Northampton business to impressive heights even joining the £1m turnover club in 2023.

Revive! Swansea

Revive! Swansea

Having only just entered their second year, the team of Mike and Natalie Powell at Revive! Swansea are already looking at winding down their other ventures to focus all their efforts into expanding their successful Revive! business. Natalie has been running a very successful keepsake jewellery franchise for the past 17 years, but is hoping to sell her business and join Mike in their Revive! Swansea business full time in the future. She explained: “Revive! earns us more money so it’s a no brainer for us both to be working together on this one. The more we can grow Revive Swansea the better it is going to be for both of us to be on board.” Moving into their second year of trading, their priority is to find a workshop unit before the winter nights set in. A fifth van and technician are on the cards soon to meet demand.

Revive! Portsmouth

Revive! Portsmouth

As part of Revive! Portsmouth for many years Steve Thatcher has found himself in all kinds of roles, coming all the way from man on the ground technician, Steve now finds his role is now predominantly as a business owner, and he’s supporting and developing the next generation of technician. One such technician is Terry Wheatley, who has been working under Steve for the past 11 years. Terry moved to an operations manager role in 2022 which involves him developing the technicians and ensuring they understand the daily work they will be undertaking.

Under Steve’s ownership Revive Portsmouth has been going from strength to strength, showing consistent growth and taking on a number of new technicians in the past few years, as Steve slows down his managerial role he is looking to really accelerate the business in the future through further fostering of the larger clients and developing his relationship with them.

Revive! have trained and supported a whole host of franchisees, each at different points in their careers, some are looking to build a business they can pass on to future generations, others want to make a name for themselves as an industry leader, there are even some that want to dominate their territory showing their competitors and former employers exactly where they stand. One of the things they have in common however is a drive for success, they are all eager to continue the growth of their businesses into established successful enterprises and Revive! are there to help them every step of the way.
