Steve, who formerly worked in the IT sector, found himself researching Franchise Opportunities in order to be closer to his family. Steve stresses that a Franchise owner needs to be hardworking, dedicated and motivated and congratulates Revive! Head office’s training and support throughout a Franchisee’s career.
Steve’s grown his Revive Portsmouth car repair franchise to six vans and techs plus admin staff – and is now able to start stepping back as he marks his best year ever and a great local award win.
Steve started with Revive! as a man in a van offering minor repair services. He has gradually developed Revive! Portsmouth over many years, starting out as a technician before moving into a managerial role after 12 years of service. To start with his management role involved a lot more of the day-to-day administration along with managing his technicians.
When the pandemic hit Steve found his position changed once again, with dealerships closed he found a shift to retail services included much more telesales and interacting with customers online answering their questions and queries. Thanks to the end of lockdowns and with Covid fading away Steve got involved in the high-level operations such as payroll and HR which took him away from the general consumers, however Steve continued to foster relationships with trade customers and developing them into more business for Revive! Portsmouth.
As time has passed Steve has found himself in all kinds roles throughout Revive! Portsmouth. Coming all the way from man on the ground technician Steve now finds his role now as a business owner, and he’s now supporting and developing the next generation of technician. One such technician is Terry, who has been working under Steve for the past 11 years, across the next few months Terry will be moving to an operations manager role which will involve him developing the technicians and ensuring they understand the daily work they will be undertaking.
Under Steve’s ownership Revive Portsmouth has been going from strength to strength, showing consistent growth and taking on two new technicians in the past year, as Steve slows down his managerial role he is looking to really accelerate the business through further fostering of the larger clients and developing his relationship with them. Following this Steve is planning on passing the management to Terry as he looks to step away in the next five to seven years.
