Moving on from a 25-year career in advertising and marketing to running your own Smart Repair business might not be the normal job route you’d expect, but for Paul Lyonette of Revive! Canterbury & Dover it was a no brainer. Paul had found that his advertising work had become very samey, with limited room for him to really explore his capabilities.
He was craving the autonomy of running his own business and having the opportunity to bring his extensive skills to a new venture. Paul had researched a lot of different franchising opportunities over the years, but none had really jumped out at him like Revive! Having the knowledge and experience not only of other franchisees but of the entirety of Head Office just a phone call away gave him a massive boost in confidence as he hadn’t ran his own business before and was eager to make the right decisions quickly. He was especially pleased with is initial induction and training scheme, he found everything to be super clear. It was almost as if his hand was being held throughout the process to ensure he didn’t make any crucial mistakes in these early stages of his franchisee journey.
Paul felt there was an element of a safety net when coming into such a successful brand, he didn’t just have to look at the other franchisees, but the brand itself. Revive! had grown from just one van on the road to the national number one brand for Smart Repairs. It’s a tried and tested formula giving you confidence in everything you receive. He felt at no point that he was going to be steered down the wrong path because ultimately Revive! know what they are doing in setting up businesses.
From his own research it was clear to Paul that the market was there for Smart Repairs in his area and the ability to scale his business to address that market was also there. The proven concept of Smart repairs as an industry puts him ahead of his competition because he has the Revive! brand behind him.
Paul very much bought into the four core values of Revive!, particularly the Unity value and felt it was a real team effort in setting up his business to succeed, rather than him just playing along while everyone else put the work in. Paul is truly over the moon with the support he’s received from Head Office and couldn’t have asked for any more from the Revive! brand.
Paul was told that Recruitment was one of the hardest things to do, as a quality technician can completely change the prospects of a business. The support of the recruitment team from start to finish was excellent.
