Why Revive! should be your next Franchise

Revive! have championed the opportunities and advantages presented by franchising for many years. The Revive! franchise model has led to the company’s continued success and brought significant rewards to its franchisees. The consistent positive messaging surrounding Revive! and franchising as a whole has led to many veterans of the franchising world exploring and investing in their own Revive! franchise.

Mike Powell – Revive! Swansea

Mike Powell had been involved in the world of franchising for 16 years prior to starting his Revive! business in Swansea in 2023. Mike is very experienced in the sector, running and working in a broad range of businesses including a Jewellery franchise he currently runs with his wife, Natalie.

Having little experience in the automotive industry and also being colour blind, Mike found little interest in actually going out on the road as a technician and found much more excitement in the management side of Revive! Swansea. As an experienced franchisee Mike wanted to supervise the technicians and assist them in growing professionally whilst also growing the business as a whole.

At every stage of their journey, Revive! franchise owners receive award winning ongoing support from Revive!’s UK directors and the company’s large head office team. In a new business the first few months are often the hardest, and for Mike and Natalie it was no different. “If it was easy everyone would do it!” observed Mike. “At times we did struggle, but the day-to-day mentorship we received from managing director Mark Llewelyn personally, to help us through those bumpy first eight months was fantastic. The whole team has been incredibly supportive.”

Once they got to grips with the management side of the business and had the right technicians in place, the business really took off. Word of mouth recommendations gathered momentum and sponsorship of the South Wales 360 Car Club raised their profile even further. A third van and technician were added to cope with the extra work now coming in.

Natalie and Mike are enjoying being part of the Revive! family. They attended their first annual conference last year and are already looking forward to the next one. Natalie said: “We were really proud to see our picture up on the screen with our first record month and at the same time seeing other people’s. It was nice to be part of it and see everybody coming together like that.”

Kyle Thorburn – Revive! Slough

Originally from South Africa, Kyle Thorburn and his wife Joanne were among the top five franchisees in SA for a leading travel brand. Political instability in the country led them to emigrate to the UK seven years ago to give the family a safer future.

He explained: “I chose to take a paid job when we first came to the UK purely for financial reasons, but I struggled to work for bosses when they don’t have a big vision of where you can go or what the company could be. The whole Covid thing highlighted the vulnerability of working for someone else and made it easier for me to walk away. There’s no security for your future.” As he explored the automotive

sector for his next franchising opportunity, Revive! stood out. “When you speak to people within the company and others involved with the company, there was just something that said – this is the place to be. A perfect fit.”

Even as an experienced franchisee, Kyle found the management training at Revive!’s headquarters in Rugby particularly useful, giving him valuable reminders ‘that he may have forgotten or skipped over’. The technical training provided the knowledge he needed to manage his technicians and quote on jobs. It’s not surprising that Kyle has big ambitions for Revive! Slough, aiming to have five or six vans on the road within the next four years. He’s also got his eye on available neighbouring territories a bit further down the line. In the short term he will be focusing on getting the business up and running and established, making sure that Revive! is the number 1.

Rohit Kumra – Revive! Preston

Rohit Kumra started his career in Trading, before establishing his own franchise of Sheer Markets Trading and going on to study at the University of Delhi in 2010 and completing his Masters in economics. Following this Rohit moved around a number of different jobs before leaving India to pursue opportunities in the UK. Initially Rohit was exploring the education franchising sector but soon became aware of the opportunity to buy in to an existing Revive! franchise. Rohit purchased Revive! Preston in August 2024 and hit the ground running, quickly establishing himself as the new owner of the business among his customers and technicians.

One of the key advantages Rohit found in franchising as opposed to sole business ownership was that a lot of the hard financial and marketing work had been done for him, allowing him to focus on growing the business in his territory and building his reputation as a business owner. The proven Revive! Business model took care of a lot of the relative unknowns Rohit had about the business and ‘ticked all the boxes’ for him.

Rohit has appreciated how communicative Revive! was from his first interaction with them, quickly integrating him into the business and the Revive! Way. He also understood that Revive! wouldn’t take on just anyone, they were looking for the right people and thoroughly researched each potential franchisee they interacted with. This gave Rohit a feeling of security that the brand he joined wouldn’t be brought down by any bad apples in his surrounding territories.

His short-term plans are to establish himself as the new business owner and build a relationship with his current dealerships along with hiring another technician. In the next year he hopes to add another technician to his line-up allowing him to have a firm base to build the business further.
