With a business and finance background, Kiran Kumar had been working in the Drinks, Wine and Spirits industry for over 24 years as an operations director. But despite his success he had always had a need to start his own business sitting in the back of his head. So it was almost lucky when his former employer offered him voluntary redundancy in 2024, giving Kiran the perfect opportunity to break out on his own.
Kiran had previously explored franchising many years ago, looking to build upon his food and beverage operations experience, he ultimately decided to maintain course on his career and bide his time for the right opportunity. He was always clear that he wanted to do something he had an interest in, so something automotive orientated was his target.
Following expansive research into the automotive franchise opportunities available via the British Franchise Association (BFA) Kiran found extensive results and positive feedback for Revive!, including nearly 50,000 five-star Trustpilot Reviews. His favourite part of the training was getting hands on in the workshop learning the practical elements of the job that his technicians will be doing every day. It really took him back to one of his earliest jobs working in a body shop as a teenager.
As Kiran and Revive! Reading progress, he is hoping that his lifestyle will allow him to be in control of how he spends his day and not having a set routine, he can work when he wants as and when he pleases as well as working as hard as he likes. Giving him the freedom to take a holiday when he wants, not in a dictated period by his employer.
Kiran is very hopeful for Revive! Reading, looking to start off with two technicians and within the first year he’d like to take on a third and work his way up to four then five within the first five years, before then taking on another territory and expanding his business throughout the network.
