When opening your own business or entering into the world of franchising there are some myths and misconceptions about the industry and your responsibilities as a franchisee. Revive! are here to dispel a few of those rumours and encourage you to join the Revive! network.

Myth 1 – You are buying a business in a box

Many new business owners expect to go into franchising and hit the ground running with a ready to go business that just needs employees. While there are elements of truth in this, a Revive! franchise will come with initial training, support in finding technicians, help with business planning, finding finance and more. You will however need to supply your own energy and determination to ensure the successful launch of your new territory, you won’t get the opportunity to just sit back and watch without any input or hard work.

Myth 2 – No-one will ‘tell you what to do’

Many people turn to the world of franchising after realising that the corporate world isn’t for them and they had too many people looking over their shoulder and telling them what to do. They want to be their own boss and make decisions for themselves.

Now if you do enter into a franchise agreement with Revive! this will be true you will have the opportunity to run your business as you see fit, however we will always be on hand to help and provide support during the early days of your business and if required will give ‘strong guidance’ as to where you should be improving your business. So, at the start of your journey as a franchisee, get yourself into a ‘learner’ mindset, take on board the help and guidance on offer, which after all, is no doubt one of the reasons you bought your franchise in the first place.

Myth 3 – No more rules to follow

Leaving the rules and regulations of corporate life can be an exciting prospect, however when working with established franchisors such as Revive! their success is based on a tried and tested structure and format which all franchisees need to follow so you will need to understand and accept the restrictions this incurs.

Whilst this may seem like just being stuck in another corporate ladder it is in fact just to ensure all franchisees are playing by the same rules. Where you disagree with a rule a good franchisor will always be willing to discuss the reasons behind the rules, alleviate any concerns and may even be able to offer you a different approach you hadn’t been aware of to try and get the best out of your business.
