We’ve launched five new franchisees from very different career backgrounds – but they all have one thing in common – a desire to build a thriving multi-van Revive! business.
Their reasons for choosing Revive! also differ. Jake Neadley at Kings Lynn was working for a big brand hospitality franchise and looking for an business opportunity to stay in the sector when his own car was damaged and repaired by Revive!: “The stars seemed to line up. When my car got hit and I couldn’t really get it done locally or with ease, I realised that there was great potential.”
Jeff Firman, as operations director of a special needs transport company, had been a customer of Revive! North Yorkshire and was so impressed by the business that when the previous owner retired he decide to buy it ! “Having 115 vehicles on the road every day, you’re obviously inevitably going to have bumps, scrapes, and that’s how I found Revive! We started to use them, and I really was blown away by the quality of the work.”
Gary Watson, owner of Revive! Maidstone spent 30 years in the oil and gas industry. He was drawn to Revive! by the franchise’s impressive support infrastructure. “I’ve really been into cars all my life so getting into the automotive industry was a great opportunity. I researched a lot of franchises and chose Revive! because I saw a lot of reviews and discussions about Revive! on the internet, what other organisations were saying about the company and what it has accomplished.”
As an accountant Matt West from Revive! Crawley and Horsham was impressed by the financial opportunities a Revive! management franchise could offer him: “It was clear that Revive! are very well respected in the franchise industry. The first couple of people I met through the process were very knowledgeable and friendly, giving you confidence about the journey that you were contemplating.”
Richard Senior was an AA roadside team leader before launching Revive! Wakefield. He’s always fancied being involved in the bodyshop side of the industry and research took him to explore the Revive! opportunity in more depth: “I started on the BFA website then saw a lot of good reviews. I watched lots of videos on the Revive! YouTube channel, and made contact, got some more information, and started the ball rolling that way.”
Restoring their work-life balance is a common theme. Jake as father of a young son is looking forward to being able to enjoy taking his son to school and spending weekends with his family. Jeff is looking forward to the freedom and flexibility. “I know it’s going to be hard work, but when you’re working for someone else, you do that hard work anyway, without the benefits of being your own boss.” Both Gary and Matt spent a great deal of time away from home in their previous roles and are enjoying being far more present at home with family and friends. And for Richard the answer is simple – “I just wanted to work for myself to give me freedom and financial security,”
The level of support provided by Revive! head office surprised our new recruits. Although the support aspect of the opportunity was a main deciding factor, the reality far surpassed expectations. Said Gary: “I felt like I’ve been part of the family from the minute I walked in the door.” For Jake “the confidence and competence across all the Revive! departments and teams came through in the support training from day one.” Matt agreed: “Everybody is helpful. Everybody’s accessible. So any questions, people come back to you straight away.”
All five franchisees enjoyed the training they received, particularly the ability to combine in person and online sessions. Said Jeff: “Given the distance some of us have to travel, it’s really good that you’ve got the online option to view as and when and repeat, but there’s nothing like coming down to head office and seeing people and interacting properly. You just get that extra layer of understanding.”
For Richard, the sales and marketing sessions were the highlight and he’s eager to put his new skills to work building the brand throughout his territory and maximising sales opportunities.
Part of the Revive! new franchisee recruitment process includes preparing a business plan. By the end of this process all of our new franchisees had a clear vision for their future, setting ambitious, achievable goals.
Cathryn Hayes, Revive! franchise director said: “At Revive! we have very high standards and we’re very selective when it comes to taking on new franchisees. Not everyone who applies is successful – the fit has to be right for both parties and I’m delighted that we continue to attract such quality candidates. We welcome Richard, Jeff, Matt, Jake, Gary and their teams to the Revive! family and we look forward to helping them achieve great things as they grow their businesses.”
Revive! Wakefield launched in January, Revive! North Yorkshire launched in March, Revive! Crawley and Horsham launched in April, Revive! Kings Lynn launched in May and Revive! Maidstone launched in July. And watch this space, as three more Revive! new franchisee launches are in the pipeline!
